Get Ready To Wiggle Review

When I first put this DVD and saw Wally, a rather strange looking man, I was a little put off. I guess I was expecting an enhanced version of their television show and not a full-length movie with a real plot. I didn't really pay much attention to it then but the next time I played it I sat down and watched it with Alex. It turned out to be very entertaining. In fact, about half way through Alex wandered off to play and I ended up watching the rest of it by myself.

There are two storylines in this movie. It's Dorothy the Dinosaur's birthday and the Wiggles are planning a surprise party for her. But she is unhappy because she thinks the Wiggles have forgotten. Then Wally The Great steals Greg's wand believing he needs it to win the Magic Competition.

Dorothy teaches Wally how to believe in himself as they travel through Wiggle Land visiting Wags the Dog and Captain Feathersword hoping they have remembered her birthday. Meanwhile the Wiggles sing and dance their way through Wiggle Land searching for Dorothy.

Since this is a real movie, the song and dance scenes and not just taken from previous TV shows and videos. They are re-choreographed with more dancers and new sets that fit the theme of the movie. There are other supporting actors that help hold the plot together. All their familiar song are here plus two others that I have never heard before: 'Hey There Wally' and 'I'm A Cow'. Several music only scores (Mrs. Bingles Theme and Ballerina Ballerina) I've heard bits and pieces of, but in the movie they have been expanded and choreographed.

Alex at 17 months is to young to really follow the plot but dances to the music and seems to be fascinated by Wally The Great. 'The Wiggles magical Adventure' is highly recommended. I hope they do more movies like this in the future.
